Ms. Clementia Dokypo of the GUSSS Secretariat at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, Kumasi (KNUST), has won the GUSSS Best Staff Award for July–September 2026 for her dedication, professionalism and contribution to its work.
Mr James Kwasi Oberko, Senior Assistant Registrar at the Secretariat, said the quarterly award, introduced in 2026, recognises outstanding performance and encourages staff to improve service delivery.
“The award was introduced to appreciate staff members who demonstrate excellence, dedication and commitment to their responsibilities. It is also intended to motivate others to improve their performance and contribute meaningfully to the growth of GUSSS,” he stated.
A committee chaired by the Senior Tutor at Complex Hostel, Professor Ralph Johnson, selects recipients using 13 criteria. These include punctuality and regularity at work, professional appearance, effective communication, integrity, transparency and accountability.

Mr Oberko said the criteria reinforce professionalism, responsibility and teamwork.
“Every staff member has a role to play in making GUSSS proud. We therefore encourage everyone to uphold these values, remain committed to their duties and strive for excellence.”
Miss Dokypo thanked her colleagues for the recognition and urged them to remain committed to their responsibilities.
“I am grateful for this recognition and the confidence my colleagues have placed in me. I encourage everyone to continue working hard, remain committed to their responsibilities and give their best in whatever they do,” she said.
